Use-cases of migrations to the GlassFish application server

With the advent of open source application servers as a viable alternative to more expensive solutions, a number of people are
looking at how to best utilize their IT budget and the first question they ask themselves is usually along the lines of “Does J2EE buy me vendor-independance?”. This presentation will cover the typical process one can follow to assess the portability of a J2EE/Java EE application and detail a number of typical pitfalls and associated solutions when migrating non-trivial applications to a new platform (packaging issues, JNDI naming mismatches, product-specific deployment descriptors, class-loader hierarchy differences, etc…).
